I ended up not actually needing it as both my barrel and my gas block came from Aero Precision, and the block is meant to be shoved directly against the collar. I did, however get peace of mind learning this to be the case. It helped me to diagnose a clogged, from the factory, gas tube. While there is not much to the Genie, it is a very well thought out build aid that no one who enjoys assembling rifles should be without. It, very easily, insures that your block is not only over the barrel port, it also allows you to align it dead center over the top of the barrel. While it did not have any real effect on where I put this one, it will undoubtedly be used by me again and again. Sometimes it's the simple things that are the most impressive.
Works as advertised
This was my first AR-15 build and it made the gas block alignment perfect the first try. No do and redo just straight on to a fun afternoon of shooting.
Simple effective way to get perfect alignment.
A simple solution to a complex problem.
I was told that aligning the gas block was near to impossible and while researching the method came to find this product. Order was easy, shipping was fast AND FREE and when I received it the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Whoever thought of this ingenious device needs a pat on the back for a job well done.
What a great simple to use tool. Anyone working on AR15 rifle platforms needs to have this item. This tool will save you hundreds of dollars not to mention the time saved as well. Great folks to do business with . Thank You Very Much.
I was having a gas problem with my LR308 build, featuring an J&P adjustable gas block on an Aero Precision barrel. I marked and moved and adjusted, and it still would not eject properly. Literally a 5 minute fix using the Gas Block Genie ( the block seats 1/8" in front of where the barrel diameter thickens). I have three more builds slated, and having this tool in my tool box will make them a lot easier.
